A Vertical Landscape is a self sufficient vertical garden attached to the interior or exterior of a building.

The origins of Vertical Planting as a concept can be traced back as far as 600 BC with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The first patent for a Green Wall System was held by inventor Stanley Hart White, a Professor of Landscape Architecture. Special thanks must also be extended to Botanist Patrick Blanc whose research and innovations have brought Green Walls to the forefront of contemporary design and culture.
